Next Sunday, February 4, 2018, we will have Praise & Worship service at 9:00 AM followed by Holy Communion service in Malayalam at 9:30 AM.
1. An area 1 prayer meeting will be held at the residence of Bilu Omman (Bilu & Lincy) on Saturday Feb 3, 2018 at 6:00 PM.
2. An area 3 prayer meeting will be held at the residence of Varghese Olipattu ( Georgekutty & Aleyamma) on Sunday, Feb 11, 2018 at 4:00 PM. Area 3 representative to the Executive Committee will be elected at this meeting.
Edavaka Mission announcement
Next Edavaka Mission prayer meeting will be held on Friday, Feb 2, 2018 at 7:30 PM at the church. Request all Edavaka Mission members to come and participate in the meeting.
1. The Canadian Mar Thoma Church choir is planning to have an audition for incorporating new members into the existing English and Malayalam choirs. Those who turn 12 years and above in this calendar year, please submit your names to either the Choir Secretary or the Vicar, Rev Shibu Samuel by February 4, 2018.

Those who wish to join both the choirs, please note that you have to sing both the songs.

2. Annual General Body meeting
The Annual General Body Meeting of the Canadian Mar Thoma Church Choir will be held on 28th of January 2018 immediately after the Holy Communion Service to transact the following Agenda:
1. Annual Report for the year 2017
2. Audited statement of Accounts for the year 2017
3. Annual Budget for the year 2018
4. Election of office bearers for the year 2018
5. Any Other Business matter with the permission of the chair.
The meeting will be presided over by the Vicar and President, Rev. Shibu Samuel. All choir members are requested to attend.

Notice is here by given that the Annual General Body Meeting of the Canadian Mar Thoma church Yuvaja Sakyam will be held on Sunday Feb 4th , 2018 at the church, 169 Sandiford Drive , Stouffville immediately after service to transact the following agenda.
To present and approve the Annual Report for 2017
To present and approve the Statement of Audited Income and Expenditure for 2017
To present and approve the Budget for 2018
Election of YS Committee Members for 2018 (Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Area Representatives from area 1- 6)

Update from the Diocesan Council Member
1. Family conference will be held from July 5 – 8 in Houston, Texas.
Venue: Hilton, 12400 Greenspoint Dr, Houston. Texas
Theme: United by God – Committed to Serve
Conference leaders: Rt.Rev. Dr. Issac Mar Philoxenos, Rt. Rev. Joseph Mar Barnabas, Rt. Rev. Thomas Mar Timotheos and Rev. Sam T. Koshy
All members are encouraged to participate the conference.
Registration has started. Early registration before 31st March will get discount.
2. 2018 India Mission Trip is planned for 10 days from 3 -13 August and will cover North India Mission fields.
We all are aware about the importance of the India Mission Trip and the benefits our Youths are getting out of this activity. Those who are interested to participate in this year’s trip, please enroll at the earliest. Binu Korah and family from St. Mathews church is leading the Canada team. Contact Alex Alexander for more information.
3. Light to Life Project
The diocese is launching a new project to reach out to the unreached with the message of love through education. It is a social development endeavor to ensure kids and poor communities get access to life’s essentials and enable them to lead a life of dignity.
All our members are requested to participate in the project by sponsoring at least one child by donating $25 a month. Forms are available. We will be allotted a village if we sponsor more than 100 children.
Checks are directly payable to Mar Thoma Mission Board.

Update from the Consolidation Committee
The consolidation committee members held several meetings with several real estate brokers from the GTA and solicited their proposals to market our Markham properties for sale. The committee met and evaluated the written proposals from four different reputable real estate broker firms and unanimously selected Cushman & Wakefield as our broker for the sale of our properties. A listing agreement was signed with them last week and they are working on to list the properties for sale. As decided in our general body meeting, we have engaged a firm to carry out the Environmental assessment of the properties and the report is expected soon. We will give you frequent updates to keep you informed.
Youth Fellowship announcement
As announced earlier, Youth fellowship is holding a concert- Ignite: Lighted to Lighten on February 17 th at our church, a night of songs and skits showcasing many talents of our young people. Tickets are now available for purchase at the information desk at $15 for Individuals and $35 for families of 3 or more. Request your support and encouragement for the program.
Kerala Christian Ecumenical Fellowship is holding Lenten retreat next Month.
February 9 th -7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the St. Mathews Mar Thoma church, Milton
February 10 th- 6:30 Pm to 9:00 PM at the CSI Church, Toronto.

A baby girl was born to Clinta Jacob, daughter of Mr. Jacob George & Sara Jacob of Stouffville.

Malayalam Class Registrations:
We are going to start the Malayalam Classes this year and registrations are OPEN. If you are interested, today is the last day for registration. We will have a bridge program for the newcomers to catch up to the ongoing program. Registration forms are available in the foyer. The cost is $10 for an individual (student or adult) and $20 for the family. There is no age limit for registrations - young and old are welcome to join.
