The Canadian Mar Thoma Church Sunday school has been an integral part of the church since its beginning in Toronto, Canada. Sunday school staff, volunteers and children take active part in the Holy Communion Services, the decision making body of the church and in various activities of the church. Our Sunday school has been blessed with 140 students and 36 teachers and volunteers.
Sunday school Motto: Come to Jesus, bring every child to Jesus
Sunday school follows the curriculum published by the Diocese of North America and Europe. Children learn the history of the Mar Thoma Church and also, bible stories and passages and practical lessons to face challenges and temptations that come their way and that compromises Christian values and principles.
Nursery to Grade 4 students participate in a midterm examination and a final examination set by their respective Sunday school teachers. Students from Grade 5 to Grade 10 also have a midterm examination conducted locally in which they are expected to achieve at least 60% and above to write the Final examination set and conducted by the Diocese.
The Canadian MTC Sunday school organizes a lot of events. Praise & worship - common sessions takes place regularly every Sunday from 9 am to 9:30 am, led by different worship teams.
