  Announcements for Sunday December 19, 2021

Good Afternoon, Welcome to all attending this service in-person and online.

1.     Kalpana regarding appointing Rev.Sunil Chacko as Vicar-in-Charge.

2.     Next Saturday, December 25th, we will have Holy Communion service in English at 10 AM.

3.     Next Sunday, December 26th, we will have Holy Communion service in Malayalam at 10 AM.

Online registration for in-person attendance is open for all members, families with kids and guests. The google form will be online from tomorrow 7 pm.

If you have any difficulty in filling the form, or to know if there are cancellations, please reach out to by email or phone.

The service is also live streamed on our YouTube Channel.

 

4.     On December 31st, the watch night service will be in Malayalam.Time to be confirmed later.

 

5.     On January 2nd,2022, the Holy Communion service will be in English.

 

6.     Markham Stouffville Hospital(MSH) Charity project

Our collections for supporting the infrastructure needs of Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) are progressing well. We need your generous help to raise 15,000 dollars and we have almost reached half way mark as per latest update from Trustees. We only have a few more days left and request all those who are present here and watching online to donate  generously to this noble cause. Your donations are eligible for tax receipts. Thanks to all who already contributed to this initiative.

Please remember, The last date for your donation is Sunday, December 26th.

 

You can send in your donations as cheques or e-transfers to treasurer@marthoma.ca. Please mention MSH charity or charity donation in the memo. If you need any further information, please don’t hesitate to call me or our trustees Alexander V.John or Manoj Kompithra.

 

 

7.     CMTC Food Bank Charity Drive

During this Christmas season and time of giving, our church is organizing a charity food drive starting today. You can donate non-perishable food items having over 6 months to expire in the food collection bins kept in the foyer. The list of items that you can donate is also placed near the bin for your reference. Once the bin is full, we will deliver it to the Markham Food Bank.

8.     The Christmas Carol Service hosted yesterday at our church was a
grand success. We had a great turnout in spite of the difficult
weather. We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who
participated and worked tirelessly behind the scenes, especially our
Sunday School, Yuvajana Sakhyam, Seniors Fellowship, Choir and
our Tech team for making this event a reality. A special thanks to
Rev. Joseph Chacko, Rev. Roji Mathews and Rev. Thomas
Matthew for sharing the message on the real meaning of Christmas
with us.

9.     CMTC  Christmas Carol Service  (From Secreatry)

We had our church Christmas Carol Service on yesterday (Saturday,December, 18th from 5:30 PM in church).

The programs were well organised. Levin Sam Koshy and Lizabeth Koshy were the MC’s for the event. Happy to see young talents coming up

We could listen to beautiful songs from our church choir.Sunday school,Yuvajana Sakhyam and Senior Fellowship performed  programs in the Carols.

 Rev.Thomas K.Mathew,Youth Chaplain, Philadelphia delivered the message.

 

 

Thanks Joseph Chacko for the leadership in organizing this years Carols successfully.

Thanks to office beares and Executive committee for all the assistance provided.

 

10.Subscriptions,collections,donations reminder

The Christmas donations, subscriptions  collections are going on. You can do Interac e-transfers to treasurer@marthoma.ca or hand over cheques to the Trustees during these days.

 

11.Edavaka mission Announcement

 

1.  We will NOT have the regular Edavaka mission prayer meetings for next 2 weeks. The prayer meetings will  now resume on Tuesday,January,4th ,2022.

2.  Chain prayer will be held every Saturday 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

12.Fasting prayer will be held on Wednesday, December 22nd @10:30 am virtually using Google meet.

 

13.Yuvajana Sakhyam Announcement

Christmas cake sale - Dec 2021

Yuvajana Sakhyam is conducting the Christmas cake sale this year on Dec 18th, 19th, 25th  and 26th  after the Holy Communion service in church. Each cake costs $15 and will be distributed on the dates mentioned above. Kindly participate in this sale as the money received will be used for the medical expenses of a needy person suffering from a life-threatening condition. 14.      Thank you Note from Sunday School

Thanks to Sunday School students, parents, teachers, volunteers and office bearers and special thanks to Sunday School Christmas Carol program coordinator Sunita Alexander and tech team members  Joshua,Arun & Jacob.

 

No Sunday School classes next week on Dec,26th. Classes will resume on Jan,2nd,2022.

15.      Obituary

 

1.     Mr. E.V. John (74 yrs), Ettimmootil House, father of our member Mrs. Julie Shiju (Shiju & Julie, Area Prayer group - 5) passed away in Kerala on December 12th  .

 

He was a member of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church Attachakkal, Konni. Funeral was held on Friday,December 17th .

 

2.     Mrs.Podiyamma Baby (83 yrs), Madayatharayil House, Pathanapuram , mother of our member and Area Prayer Group-2 representative Mr. Thomas Baby (Thomas & Anu, Area Prayer group - 2) passed away in Kerala on December 17th .

 

 She was a member of Immanuel Mar Thoma Church, Pathanapuram. Funeral will be held on Monday, December 20th .

 

We, the CMTC family, express our deepest condolences and prayers. Please keep the bereaved families in our prayers.
