As per the decision of Diocesan Council of the Diocese of North America and Europe, the Diocese, in coordination with the Mar Thoma Parishes in Canada has established a national non-profit organization under the name, Canadian Mar Thoma Regional Activity Committee. The purpose of the Canadian Mar Thoma Regional Activity Committee is to animate the Mar Thoma faith in Canada and abroad by developing and supporting appropriate charitable activities, facilitating Christian witness and outreach, and undertaking necessary faith formation, education and communication activities. The CMRAC will also function as a co-ordination mechanism among the eight parishes and one congregation in Canada and with the Diocesan office in New York.

The CMRAC has now been registered as a federally incorporated non-profit organization in Canada and the Diocese is in the process of obtaining registered charitable status from the Canadian Revenue Agency.

The inauguration of the Canadian Mar Thoma Regional Activity Committee will take place on Saturday, March 7, 4pm to 5.30pm, at the Canadian Mar Thoma Church, 159 Sandiford Dr, Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON. Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Isaac Mar Philoxenos and other dignitaries will be present. Choirs and Sunday Schools of Canadian Mar Thoma Parish and St. Mathews Mar Thoma Parish will be singing at the event. This is a significant milestone for the Canadian Mar Thoma community in our journey as a diaspora community in Canada. Prayerful participation of all Mar Thoma members is requested. The Youth fellowship held Ignite 2020 last evening, filled with praise and worship from the St. Mathews Mar Thoma Church and the CSI Youth.  It was also an evening with skits and other programs, from our very own youths. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us in this endeavour and to those who worked tirelessly to make it a success.

As part of Ignite 2020, a silent auction was held for the beautiful art work and paintings from our very own youths. Due to popular demand, silent auction has been extended for more participation from our members.  You will find them displayed in the foyer.  The painting and/or art work will go to the highest bidder.  Please see Nikki George for more details.
