Next Sunday, October 20, Holy Communion Service in Malayalam @ 10 am. Common session will begin at 9 am & Sunday School Classes @ 9:15 am.  Please note that October 20 is being observed as Yuvajana Sakhyam Day.  Annual convention starts Thursday, October 17 and Sunday, October 20 will be the final and concluding session of the convention. 

 

Sunday School Announcements:

 

Halleluiah Night will take place on October 31, at the church at 7 pm.  Lot of fun activities, games, food, treats are being planned.  All are encouraged to come and be part of this fun event. 

 

World Sunday School Day program will take place on Sunday, November 3 at 4 pm.  More details to follow closer to the date.

Annual Convention is scheduled to take place from October 17-20.  October 17-19, the convention will start at 7:30 pm.  The concluding session will take place on Sunday, October 20 during the Holy Communion Service, as announced earlier.  Bro. Sabu Varyapuram will be our Convention Speaker.  Please come and be blessed.

 

Choir Announcements:

Choir retreat to take place this afternoon, at 1 pm.  All choir members are expected and encouraged to attend prayerfully.  Retreat is being led by Chandy Skariah.  Registration fee is $10 per choir member.

 

Edavaka Mission Announcement:

The bible trivia/quiz for the month of October is posted on our website. If you need assistance to print a copy of the quiz, please contact Edavaka Mission Secretary, Alexander Philip. 

 

This week, Fasting Prayer at the church, on Wednesday, October 16will be moved to the evening at 7:30 pm, not as Fasting Prayer but as a preparatory session, for our Annual Convention starting Thursday, October 17.  Lets come together and join hands to pray for a blessed convention.

Come, lets celebrate Christmas this year sharing the love of Jesus among us.

Prayer Group Area Representatives will callevery parishioner, to schedule date and time of the carol rounds but if you have a day you prefer or wish to have your house scheduled on a Friday, please call the Area Reps to let them know.

Few points to take note:

1.    This year, we are scheduling carol rounds on Fridays for convenience.

2.    This year, every house will be scheduled for carol rounds unless the member indicates otherwise.

3.    If you wish to have only few carollers, please bring it to the attention of the Vicar or Area Reps and we will do whatever possible, to accommodate your request. 

4.    A max of 3 families can come together and gather at one place for carol rounds.  

5.    Carolling schedules as follows:

Start times: Fridays @ 7:30 pm; Saturdays @ 1 pm; Sundays @ 2 pm

o    Area 1: Sunday, Nov 10, Saturday, Nov 23,

·        Additional day if needed - Friday, Dec 13

Fall Cleaning:

This event is scheduled for October 19 starting at 10 am, coordinated by Lijo Mathai & Alexander P Alexander.  All parishioners are encouraged and expected to come and share in the joy of cleaning and organizing.  Food will be provided.  Heads of auxiliaries will be responsible to clean and organize their respective areas. 

 

Joint meeting of the Executive Committee, the Phase 2 Building Committee & Office Bearers & Committee members of each sub-organization, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 20th, soon after the Holy Communion service to update and discuss the progress of the Second Phase Construction Project.  

 

Obituary:

It is with deep sadness that we inform you, the passing away of Ammini Mathai (69 years), sister of our member, Mathai Joseph (Kunjumon Uncle in Ottawa) on Tuesday, October 8, in Kerala, India. Funeral service took place on Saturday, October 12 in Kumbanad, Kerala. 

 

It is with deep sadness that we inform you, the passing away of Roy George (54 years), youngest brother of our member Rajan C George, in Mamparambil, Vechoochira, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India.  He belongs to the St. Thomas Colony Mar Thoma Church.  Funeral service is being held on Sunday, October 13.  Rajan C George and family is in India. 

 

Please continue to uphold the bereaved families in our prayers.  

 

Members who were not able to participate in the thanksgiving offertory may do so next week, and hand in your contributions to the trustees.
